HITACHI Construction Machinery UK is marking 20 years since moving to its current Hebburn HQ.

The business relocated from Bridgewater in 2004 as HM Plant, before changing its name to Hitachi Construction Machinery UK in 2014.

This production facility provides a recently upgraded environment to meet the needs of the company, which in recent years has also seen the expansion into the adjoining facility. The firm said the unified 12-acre site provides the foundation to ‘innovate, collaborate and continue to provide customer-focused solutions’ for machinery, including the growing Hitachi Connected Technology division, which was previously located at the Port of Tyne depot.

David Roberts, CEO at HCMUK said, “Since establishing our headquarters in the north east, HCMUK has grown significantly right across the UK and Ireland requiring more branches and significantly more people to support that growth. Aligning our values with those of our employees has been a critical part of our success over the past 20 years, where our team help customers thrive, in an environment that fosters collaboration and innovation in every service we provide.

“Testament to this is the fact that we have several employees who continue to work for the business 20 years on, and we continue to welcome employees, customers and suppliers to a space that truly represents our values and our dedication to them – where the company and our employees work toward the same mutual successes, including our vision to be a class-leading solutions partner.”
