SUNBELT Rentals UK & Ireland has supported the City of London Police by taking part in a second Exchanging Places Cycle Safety event.
The aim is to help improve understanding between cyclists and HGV drivers and make the streets safer.
The event gave road users the opportunity to experience the road from a large vehicle driver’s perspective and learn more about the blind spots and visibility challenges professional drivers face in busy city environments.
This builds on the first Exchanging Places session, which took part in the summer, where more than 70 cyclists climbed into one of Sunbelt Rentals HGV vehicles to see what drivers can and cannot see from their perspective.
Mark Keily, health, safety and sustainability director at Sunbelt Rentals, said, “We’re pleased to continue supporting the City of London Police and the important conversation around road safety, By taking the time to see the road through someone else’s eyes, it can influence behaviours and decision-making in a positive way, helping to reduce risk and make our roads safer for everyone.”
