ABERDEENSHIRE-based CHAP Group has snapped up a new Bobcat T40.180SLP 18 metre telehandler, which will be put to work on a project to deliver 369 new flats in Aberdeen over a four-year period.
The machine was supplied by local Bobcat dealer Balgownie and will be based at CHAP’s Summerhill site in Aberdeen. CHAP Group is constructing the flats in a project for the local council and revealed the telehandler will be utilised across a range of different applications.
Tom Burn, plant & transport manager for CHAP Group explained, “Following a test drive and demonstration period with the CHAP plant & transport team, the new Bobcat machine was agreed to provide great value for money. With thanks to Balgownie Ltd and also the livery team at Inspire Signs & Graphics, we are extremely pleased to have added the Bobcat T40.180SLP telehandler to the CHAP fleet.”
CHAP Group’s in-house plant and transport fleet helps to support four main operating divisions – construction, homes, quarries and civils.
The T40.180SLP is described by Bobcat as ‘top-of-the-range’ model in the manufacturer’s range of 13 rigid frame telehandler models for construction/rental markets covering maximum lifting capacities between 2.6 and 4.3 tonne with lifting heights from 6 to 18m.
Features include an automatic parking brake and ECO fuel saving system, which is actuated by pressing a button on the dashboard.
