DATES and venue have been confirmed for the 4th Plantworx exhibition. The East of England Arena and Events Centre in Peterborough will be the destination for the event, which will be held from June 11-13, 2019.
Organisers said the next edition will incorporate Railworx, a new exhibition dedicated to rail plant. This addition to the show is timely, given the scale of projects such as HS2 and Crossrail 2.
Rob Oliver, chief executive of the Construction Equipment Association (CEA) said, “Plantworx remains committed to its core purpose of showcasing the best construction equipment on offer to the UK market. Two major new initiatives for 2019 are the move to the purpose-built East of England Arena and Event Centre and the addition of Railworx – which will run alongside Plantworx.
“The biggest construction projects going forward are rail related – HS2 alone is worth in the region of £55.7 billion. Our partnership with Rail Media will give us access to key rail project executives and make the most of the great business opportunities now emerging.”
Rob admitted the previous Plantworx show at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground was “blighted” by the weather so the quest was on to find somewhere that would “provide a good opportunity for a better exhibitor and visitor experience” regardless of weather conditions. Indoor exhibitors can be accommodated in the purpose-built arena, while outside there are more permanent roadways and facilities. Rob said good mobile phone and Wi-Fi facilities are also in operation.
Angela Spink, Plantworx sales manager added, “I am excited by the potential of the new venue. We have been working with exhibitors, via our consultation groups and we have an excellent site layout and sales are now open. The new site addresses the areas that were highlighted within the exhibitor feedback from Plantworx 2017. We are very confident that we can deliver a top-notch event on behalf of our industry.”
