Ex-Hewden chief takes senior Blue Group role

Adrian Murphy

FORMER Hewden chief Adrian Murphy has been appointed Group CEO at Blue Group.

Last year was a record year for Blue with turnover exceeding £100 million for the firm, which supplies equipment for brands including Powerscreen, Doppstadt and Terex Fuchs. The company said Murphy will be tasked with bringing “increased coordination” across the group’s various businesses and developing a strong growth strategy.

As well as Hewden, Adrian Murphy has also held senior roles at Speedy and Hilti. He said, “The first few weeks have been a sharp learning curve, but what has been clear from the beginning is the customer focused ethos of the business. For example, we have recently implemented new service software, which will help make our engineers and service departments more efficient through improved information transfer.

“We are also rolling out the SAP business system across the various group offices, again to ensure more coordination to ultimately help us support our customers better.”

Group chairman and co-owner Pat McGeary added,“This is a really exciting time for Blue Group as we look to the next stage in our development. The appointment of Adrian is a signal of our ambition to grow and develop the business to another level and we would like to welcome Adrian to our board.”
