Boom time for UPA as firm buys platforms

UNITED Powered Access (UPA) has bought three new Manitou 280TJ telescopic boom platforms as part of the firm’s growth plans.
UPA supplies access platforms on short or long term hire. The business was founded three years ago and is part of the CA Group, a County Durham-based roofing and cladding manufacturer and installer.

The new machines have a working height of 28 metres and the acquisitions increase the hire fleet to 173 vehicles.
Greg Miller, sales and operational director at UPA, said, “We already have some Manitou 100VJR vertical lift platforms in our fleet and they have proven to be very reliable for indoor working at height applications.
“Reconfiguring the fleet with these new vehicles is a logical step as the business continues to grow and we are confident that they will prove to be a valuable addition.”
Manitou’s Tony Hobbs added, “We are delighted to be able to support UPA and look forward to being a significant partner in the continuing success of the business over the coming years.”
