HYUNDAI has vowed to unveil a new crawler excavator designed specifically to meet the needs of the UK’s plant hire and rental industry at Hillhead 2026.
The manufacturer’s Next Generation diggers were launched at bauma last year. Hyundai initially introduced the 36-tonne HX360 and the 40-tonne HX400, boasting full electro-hydraulic (FEH) controls and Hyundai’s DX08 diesel engine. These two models were joined by the HX300, the HX260 and the HX 230 earlier this year, the latter two powered by the four-cylinder, twin-turbocharged DX05 diesel engine.
All Next Generation machines benefit from a new cab design, with improved ventilation, redesigned control levers, and enhanced interior lighting. The excavators are equipped with Hyundai’s latest 12.8” full HD touchscreen monitor. The advanced climate control system incorporates a Discharge Air Temperature (DAT) sensor and dual solar sensors to optimise internal temperatures.
A four-corner beacon system is designed to ensure the machine is visible from all directions, while a white noise buzzer provides an audible warning to other site workers. The machine comes with a Comfort Package and is upgrade-ready to accept a range of Next Generation smart features through an Intelligent Pack. This includes Lift Assist, Grade Assist, Auto Stop. Automatic Weighing System and E-Boundary. The models also feature Hyundai’s Smart Around View Monitoring (SAVM) system as standard, employing six cameras mounted around the machine to deliver 360° visibility to the operator.
The larger Next Generation models will be on show in the UK for the first time, including both the HX300 and the HX360, while Hyundai’s ADT, wheel loader, wheeled excavator and dozer lines will be represented on the stand. Customers will also have the chance to see the new HX10A Z micro-excavator.
Hyundai equipment will take part in the quarry face demonstrations throughout the three days of Hillhead 2026, with Next Generation excavators, wheel loaders and the latest two-axle HA45A 4×4 articulated dump truck working in the rock.
