Hyundai and Leica launch 3D machine guidance system for Next Gen excavators

Leica Geosystems and Hyundai Construction Equipment collaborate on 3D machine guidance system

LEICA Geosystems and Hyundai Construction Equipment have confirmed the availability of the Leica MC1 3D machine guidance system as a retrofit option for the Next Generation of excavators, specifically engineered to work with Hyundai’s existing 2D sensors and calibration systems.

The Leica MC1 system provides operators with real-time design information and cut/fill indications, enabling operators to execute excavation projects accurately according to the reference model.

Hyundai’s latest crawler machines boast a completely new design, powered by the company’s own diesel engines.

“We are excited to be able to offer our customers the latest Leica Geosystems advanced 3D machine guidance solution, that seamlessly integrates with our existing 2D sensor equipment,” said Peter Sebold, product manager at Hyundai Construction Equipment.

Neil Williams, president of the machine control division at Leica Geosystems, added, “We are proud to introduce the Leica MC1 3D retrofit solution designed specifically for Hyundai’s Next Generation excavators. Together, we are making it easier for construction industry leaders to adopt cutting-edge technology with a streamlined installation and calibration process, allowing for immediate operation.”
