SANY launches ‘reworked’ eight-tonne compact excavator

SANY SY80U

SANY has announced the release of the reworked SY80U compact excavator.

Based on the success of the manufacturer’s eight-tonne machine, this ‘advanced’ version is said to be designed to deliver enhanced comfort and productivity. The model features a new optional two-piece boom and comes with a five-year/5,000-hour warranty.

A Stage V Yanmar engine remains at the heart of the machine. The excavator boasts a digging depth of 4,535mm, dumping height of 4,530mm, and digging reach of 7,290mm. The optional two-piece boom increases reach and control, making it ‘ideal’ for applications such as groundworks, drainage and preparing trenches for utilities. There is also a 260kg counterweight option, while the two-piece boom model has a 400kg counterweight as standard.

The new SY80U also comes with a next generation cab. Highlights include an upgraded air suspension seat and a new 7” touchscreen display. The joysticks with two proportional control circuits are also part of the standard specification. Furthermore, the ergonomically positioned control lever for the blade with integrated operating position selector is designed to make it easier to adapt the machine to the relevant work situation.

“The upgraded operators cab and the addition of the optional two-piece boom further empowers operators to do more in less time, maximising productivity while delivering a superior user experience,” said Jonathan Smith, product manager at SANY UK. “This improved model is the result of feedback from our customers and our commitment to providing real solutions to the market.”

The SY80U is registered and protected with the CESAR Datatag Scheme and CESAR ECV for quick and easy verification of emissions category and also comes with EVI telematics as standard.

The new model is available through SANY’s dealer network across the UK and Ireland.
