CASTLE Douglas-based James Gordon Ltd (Gordons), the authorised dealer for Develon for the whole of Scotland and the county of Cumbria in England, will be highlighting the new DD130-7 15.3-tonne dozer and the latest version of the DX140LC-7K 14.6-tonne crawler excavator at ScotPlant 2024.
This year will be the first time the Develon brand has been seen at ScotPlant, following the rebranding from Doosan.
Other Develon products set to feature at the Royal Highland Centre include a variety of mini-excavators, the DL80TL compact wheel loader, and some of the larger machines such as the DX140LCR-7 15.6-tonne, DX225LC-7 23-tonne and DX300LC-7 31-tonne crawler excavators and the DL380-7 wheel loader.
The display will also include a Develon DX235LCR-7 24.3-tonne crawler excavator specially adapted for scrapping vehicles.
Develon revealed that one of the biggest differences between the DD130-7 and other dozer brands is the visibility of the dozer blade. The front engine compartment offers a narrower design to make it easier for operators to see their work. Other aspects of the DD130-7 designed to enhance visibility include: the pre-cleaner tucked away in the engine compartment to maximise front visibility; relocating the electronic cooling system to the back of the dozer to improve front visibility; the cab’s low-profile front pillars to provide maximum glass area; and the all-glass doors which provide a full view of the working environment.
A standard rear view camera provides operators with an additional view of the dozer’s surroundings, while a full-colour, eight-inch Smart Touch display shows the feed from the rear view camera. Also standard are LED lights and four premium wiper blades.
The new DX140LC-7K has replaced the previous DX140LC-7 model. Develon explained that while the performance and working range are the same, the new machine incorporates ‘many improvements that enhance safety and convenience’ both for the operator and for working on site, together with a better operator experience, particularly from a maintenance point of view.
Visitors to the Gordons stand can see selected models from Develon’s next generation mini-excavator range. The machines on show include the DX10Z one-tonne, DX20Z-7 two-tonne, DX27Z-7 2.8-tonne, DX55R-7 5.7-tonne, DX63-7 6.2-tonne, and DX85R-7 9.5-tonne Stage V models.
The DX100W-7 10.7-tonne wheeled excavator is said to offer the ‘best compromise between compactness and agility’. Due to the importance of being able to operate in very restricted areas, the model can be equipped with the option of four wheel steering and a crabbing mode, with two wheel steering as standard.
Like all 11 models in the award-winning ‘DL-7’ range of wheel loaders, Develon added that the DL380-7 offers a ‘state-of-the-art’ design, incorporating a new Stage V engine and new cab offering a ‘superb’ environment for operators.
The DL80TL is one of five compact wheel loaders from Develon, that also include the DL60, DL65, DL80 and DL85-7 models, with operating weights from 3,500 to 5,000kg. Like their much heavier versions, these machines boast Stage V engines, hydrostatic four-wheel drive, 100% differential lock on both axles, and ‘versatile and powerful’ hydraulics.
