ADVANCE Construction Scotland and its plant division JMS Plant unveiled details of a new charity partnership at Truckfest Scotland 2023.
The company has pledged its support to Beatson Cancer Charity with the presentation of a £15,000 donation and unveiled a specially wrapped MAN 8 wheeled tipper with the charity’s branding that will be used daily throughout Scotland’s central belt.
Held at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston, Truckfest is a family show featuring customised and vintage trucks, American rigs and the Monster Car Crushing display.
Scottish band the Red Hot Chilli Pipers flew in from Germany to support the charity and donated t-shirts for sale.
Advance colleagues joined members of Beatson Cancer Charity’s fundraising team, supported by volunteers from the 5th legion Star Wars Costume Group, to sell t-shirts and fundraise over the two days. Around £3,429.76 was raised and a portion was matched by the generosity of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Bulkweld, repair and maintenance specialists.
Fleet manager Colin Sinclair said, “Beatson Cancer Charity touches the lives of so many Scottish families. Staff gave up their time and pitched up to support with the fundraising and we had a fantastic response from visitors selling out the t-shirts in an hour. I’m very proud of them and their commitment, and grateful to the Red Hot Chilli Pipers for their fantastic support.
“Truckfest is a terrific family day out and it was great to see all the young children in awe of our new branded truck.”
