Deal us in: CSM Sales lands Dynapac partnership

CS Machinery Sales’ (CSM) ambition to become a one-stop-shop for construction equipment has received a boost after the business was appointed as an official dealer for Dynapac.

In the previous issue of Project Plant, Inverness-headquartered CSM Sales revealed its desire to increase its portfolio of products, which already included Volvo utility equipment, MB crushing buckets, Avant loaders, and Compacttilt attachments.

The company has now been named an authorised dealer for compaction equipment specialist Dynapac, covering the north of Scotland including the Highlands & Islands, Aberdeenshire, and Angus.

East Kilbride-based LCF Engineering is the Dynapac dealer for the rest of Scotland.

CSM Sales director Angus Innes told Project Plant he is confident that, in time, the move will have a significant impact for the business.

“Dynapac saw we were advertising and looking to add to our portfolio,” Angus explained. “We also have a mutual supplier that ourselves and Dynapac both use, who suggested it might be worth having a chat with them.

“A couple of things really stood out for me. We have Volvo, Avant, and Compacttilt, which all have that Scandinavian product quality. We feel Dynapac really fits in well with that because they are based in Sweden and the products are predominantly built there as well.

“With Dynapac also being affiliated with the Fayat Group, it gives that really good, solid background behind it.

“When we started speaking to them and saw the products, we knew straightaway that it was right up there with the quality of anything else in its field.”

CSM have already started taking delivery of stock including a Dynapac CA3500D single drum vibratory roller, a CC1200 VI, and a CC1000 Plus double drum vibratory roller.

Angus added, “The CC1000 Plus was sold to a customer on Skye. The CA3500D was sold to a local contractor. The CC1200 is going to be our demonstrator. We’re now waiting on more stock coming in.

“Through demonstrating the CC1200, customers have picked up on features like the dual controls and adjustable seat. The controls and functionality of the machine are at one with the operator. In the Highlands we have a lot of owner/operators; these guys like high-spec bits of kit and things to be right. The feedback already has been really good.”

Next on the agenda for CSM is finding a site dumper manufacturer to team up with in order to plug a gap in the company’s offering.

“We are keen to speak to site dumper manufacturers,”  Angus added. “That’s the next thing we need to add to the portfolio.”

Steven Wishart, Dynapac area manager, added, “I am very pleased that CS Machinery have now been announced as the authorised distributor for Dynapac in the north of Scotland and am looking forward to working along with Angus and the rest of the team.

“I feel with CS Machinery having a reputation for already supplying quality products into the industry, along with their focus on local service and back-up, this will provide an excellent opportunity for Dynapac to move forward in this area.”
