THE Construction Equipment Association has welcomed the UK Government’s decision to amend its Retained EU Law bill.
There had been fears that the potential automatic removal of thousands of EU laws by the end of this year would bring uncertainties for businesses.
Suneeta Johal, CEO of the CEA, said, “The unnecessary blanket repeal of EU Laws is a move that would have presented substantial hurdles for UK manufacturers and consequently been detrimental.
“Furthermore, we are pleased that the secretary of state for business and trade has implemented a focused strategy directing efforts towards abolishing or enhancing specific regulations to provide certainty and benefit British enterprises. This is undeniably the most favourable outcome for the UK manufacturing industry.”
