SANY UK & Ireland has hailed the level of interest shown in the firm’s new electric mini-excavator, which was unveiled for the first time to the UK market at last week’s Executive Hire Show.
The manufacturer said its stand was ‘well attended’ on both days of the event, with the two-tonne SY19E electric digger taking centre stage.
As well as zero emissions, the compact SY19E with fully electric drive is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (cobalt-free) battery, which SANY explained allows for ‘faster, safer and more efficient’ charging as well as a ‘significantly longer battery life’.
Featuring a single automotive standard charging socket, the machine offers a flexible charging solution that includes a fast charge of 1.5 hours.
SANY highlighted the savings potential of the electric excavator. Compared to machines with combustion engines, the manufacturer added that electric operation reduces power costs by around 30%, with maintenance costs also lower.
Other machines on the SANY stand included the SY26U with Stage V Yanmar engine and load sensing hydraulics and the 8.8-tonne SY80U compact excavator. The firm said both models have been a ‘huge hit’ with plant hirers and owner operators.
Leigh Harris, business development director for the UK & Ireland, said, “It’s been terrific to kick off our 2023 events calendar. Following our success at the show last year, we had high hopes for this year’s event and it hasn’t disappointed us.
“It’s been the perfect springboard to unveil our brand new electric excavator to the UK market and it’s been great to see the amount of interest the electric SY19E and the other machines on our stand have generated.”
