GLOBAL Crane Services, a division of Global Port Services Scotland, has embarked on a multi-million pound expansion of its Liebherr crane fleet.
The move comes as the business ramps up activities in the renewables field and continues its growth in the construction and oil and gas sectors.
Global Crane Services has introduced eleven new models this year to a fleet already dominated by Liebherr machines.
The group recently launched Global Wind Projects – a dedicated commissioning and installation division – with the aim of becoming one of the country’s top providers of on and offshore turbine installation services. The cranes have been tipped to play a ‘crucial’ role in the new division’s development.
A spokesperson from Global Crane Services said, “Further investment in Liebherr cranes featuring the latest technology would continue to strengthen the company’s position in the industry sectors.”
Established in 2013 and operating via four depots, Global Crane Services runs a fleet of mobile, crawler and strut jib models from 35t upwards. The firm is part of Inverness-based Global Energy Group, which owns the Port of Nigg facility at the entrance to the Cromarty Firth.
