MERLO has announced a target to increase production capacity to 10,000 telehandlers per year.
The move forms part of the manufacturer’s 2022-2025 industrial plan, which also includes producing 25,000 genuine Merlo attachments per year.
To help achieve these goals, Merlo has planned investments to open new production lines, including one dedicated to the fully-electric eWorker model.
Merlo plans further machines in its Generation Zero range, achieving zero fuel consumption, zero noise, and zero emissions.
The industrial plan also includes the final transition to Stage V engines for the entire product range across global markets. The assembly and cab manufacturing areas will be redesigned, along with the assembly and painting lines. The cab welding area will also be redeveloped to become fully automated.
By the end of the year, Merlo Group will complete a three-year project, installing solar panels across the roofs of three production facilities. To reduce energy waste, lighting and heating automation is being rolled out across the new Merlo factory buildings, with the aim of reducing out-of-hours usage.
