ASTRAK has become an authorised distributor of Eaton final drives.
The undercarriage and wear part specialist said a typical final drive of the kind found on an excavator is composed of a reduction gear, hydraulic motor, parking brake and other components. It is responsible in driving the machine forward or backward, with Astrak adding that they are considered to be one of the most important hydraulic components of many tracked machines.
The Eaton range of final drives (sometimes called travel motors) are available for a range of excavators and other tracked equipment from 1 to 50 tonnes.
Astrak’s group operations manager, John Wyllie, said, “Our company has been supplying Eaton’s market-leading hydraulic final drives to our customers for many years. During that time, we have confirmed our belief that their final drives have been designed and manufactured to meet even the toughest of challenges that today’s industry can throw at them. This reliability makes them the first choice of many operators.
“Today’s announcement signals the logical next step in our relationship with Eaton and we are all very proud to be recognised as an Eaton authorised distributor and we look forward to the opportunities this new status will bring to our business.”
Eaton Hydraulics’ UK sales manager, Mark Ward, added, “This agreement confirms both Astrak’s and Eaton’s firm commitment to stocking and selling Eaton final drives into the OEM and replacement markets and growing our mutual market share. The partnership will continue to be a great success.”
