JOHN Bryce is the new managing director of Hardox Wearparts Centre in Stirling and aims to turn the base into a “one-stop wear shop”.
John joined the plant sector in 1989 as an apprentice mechanical engineer for Terex. After a stint as a services engineer for quarrying firm Metso Minerals, he moved into sales, working for Blue Group in Stirling for two years. John then spent time in an operations manager role at Thor Atkinson Steel Fabrications before stepping into his current position.
He said, “Hardox SSAB has a lot of exciting new products that are being released later this year; I’m looking to expand the customer base that they have at present. I just think there’s a much greater scope of work to the clients (and) to the customers that are out there that’s not being offered at the minute.”
John said the business would be showing off “some exciting new products and a new service offering” at this year’s ScotPlant.
He added, “There seems to be quite a bit of a buzz this year with a lot of new products coming on to the market. I think 2018 is going to be a good year all round.”
