Weld Off, which celebrates the talents of Britain’s best young welders has been launched.
Entries are now open for Weld Off 2016, which has a ‘God Save the Queen’ theme in recognition of Her Majesty’s upcoming 90th birthday and the 40th anniversary of both the formation of The Prince’s Trust and the Sex Pistols topping the chart with a hit of the same name.
The competition is open to welders aged between 16 and 26 who are in college or at work.
Morris Site Machinery’s welding brand ArcGen, in conjunction with Speedy Services, EAL and KEMPPI are looking for young welders to use the theme to inspire a piece of welded creativity.
Phil Winnington, managing director at Morris Site Machinery, said, “This is a great opportunity for budding young welders to think around this very current theme and bring to life their own spin on it. We’re expecting some great interpretations and fantastic entries to demonstrate all the talent out there.”
The deadline for entries is 11 March.
