RAYMOND Brown has taken a substantial package of Volvo Construction Equipment products for their aggregates operations
This latest package of machines includes three Volvo EC220D (22 tonne) excavators, two of the latest E series EC250E excavators with an operating weight of 25 tonnes and finally a Volvo L150H loading shovel complete with a 4.2m³ general purpose bucket. These machines represent a partial replacement plan but also an increment to the Group’s overall mobile fleet since it recently secured additional long term contracts.
The deal continues a long standing tradition of operating Volvo equipment. Group Plant Manager Nick Moth said, “We’ve been associated with Volvo equipment for over 25 years. In our opinion the quality of build and overall performance coupled with excellent operating costs, are the reasons why we choose Volvo.”
Whilst the three EC220D excavators will be deployed in an aggregate quarry, a sand and gravel pit and a recycling facility belonging to Raymond Brown, the all new Volvo EC250E excavators and L150H will be engaged on long term contracts which the Group specialise in; the processing of Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) at locations across Hampshire and Oxfordshire.
The Raymond Brown Group has been operating as a successful independent company in the aggregates, waste recycling and construction sectors for over 60 years. The firm operates other Volvo equipment in a fleet of over 40 excavators and 300 items of plant in total. The new package of machines join a Volvo L60F and L90F purchase four years ago for the Group’s recycling facilities at Nursling and Romsey.
