BREEDON Aggregates has made a major statement of intent with the investment in several top-class machines.
They purchased three new Cat AP500E Wheel Asphalt Paving machines from Finnpave, a new Cat® 390D LME Hydraulic Excavator, two Cat 336EL Hydraulic Excavators and several quality used excavators and wheel loaders through Finning, and an Olympian GEP110-4 diesel generator from Finning Power Systems.
The machines will be stationed across several sites in the United Kingdom.
Alan Mackenzie, Chief Executive of Breedon Scotland, said, “As the largest independent aggregate supplier in the UK, it’s imperative to our operatives and our customers that we invest in the latest machinery available.
“This deal for this large range of Cat machinery represents a major statement for the business. We wanted machines that would enable us to complete projects more economically and with the pavers, in particular, our productivity will improve dramatically.
“We needed a machine with a high standard specification.
“The Cat AP500E met this criteria and its versatility will be crucial as two of the three pavers are going to be positioned in the Scottish Highlands.
“This is where the back-up support that Finning provide will also play an important role.”
The sale of three Cat AP500E Wheel Asphalt Pavers represents the first national deal carried out by Finnpave, the surfacing specialist arm of Finning UK & Ireland. The units will provide Breedon Aggregates with an equipment solution from the quarry face, right through to the last compaction pass.
The Cat C4.4 engine-powered AP500E Wheel Asphalt Pavers will be used on major roadway paving schemes from single carriageways to motorways.
The Cat AP500E Wheel Asphalt Pavers are equipped with the latest technology to ensure surfacing is carried out efficiently with operator safety paramount. The Cat 390D LME Hydraulic Excavator and Cat 950G Wheel Loader will support Breedon Aggregates quarrying applications in England, assisting with the production of loose and bagged aggregates used in the building and construction sectors for pathways, driveways and gardening applications.
Tim Hall, Chief Executive of Breedon England, said, “The new additions to our fleet will only compliment what we already have, offering us a great operational solution that will prove to be very successful.”
Neil Dickinson, Managing Director of Finning UK and Ireland, said, ”This is a further endorsement of the quality of Cat machines and the trust Breedon Aggregates has in both Finnpave and Finning.
“Not only is this the first national deal Finnpave has delivered since becoming a dedicated Cat Paving Products supplier, but it also has generated reciprocal business across the whole company, with machines used for different applications.”
