Skid-steer solidity

Bobcat

RECYCLABLE materials processor Ideal Waste Paper (IWP) has purchased three new Bobcat S510 skid-steer loaders for use in the company’s materials recycling facility (MRF) in Swanley in Kent in the UK, which recycles over 250,000 tonne of paper, cans, plastics and glass every year.

The “compact nature and small turning circles” of the new Bobcat 500 platform loaders are said to make them an excellent complement to the larger wheel loaders working at the Swanley plant. Simon Scott of IWP said: “We have tried a number of brands of skid-steer loader over the years but I’m very glad to be using the Bobcat machines again. We have always found that they are by far the most durable and the only ones that are truly up to the job. Each of the new S510 machines is equipped with Bobcat industrial fork and grapple attachments to carry out our intensive sorting and handling work.”
All the discharging, baling and loading work at IWP is carried out under cover. This safeguards the environment, and protects the materials being recycled, among other benefits. It also allows uninterrupted processing of waste in all weathers, utilising IWP’s two balers and Hogger system.
Wastepaper and other recyclable materials are delivered throughout the day on IWP’s own fleet of vehicles including bulk container lorries and specialist waste recycling vehicles. The S510 skid-steer loaders work alongside the wheel loaders at Swanley to sort, grade and bale the various different type of waste material for customers.
