SAFEDEM has completed the demolition of the former George McTurk Court in Cumnock and told of its delight at the interest of a local youngster in the work.
One-year-old Myles and his mum Michelle were daily visitors to the demolition site. Myles enjoyed watching the diggers and interacting with workers, who’d beep the horn of the plant machinery and move buckets up and down to wave at him.
To acknowledge this special relationship, Safedem gave Myles his own hardhat and toy digger – and even stopped work on site for a short period of time to let him ride on a digger.
William Sinclair, Safedem MD, said, “We are delighted that we have safely delivered this project for East Ayrshire Council, but what has made it extra special has been Myles’ visits to watch our machine in action.
“The Safedem site team have made him an honorary member of the demolition squad!”
