Portable power innovation earns Instagrid Green Apple Award

Instagrid portble power

INSTAGRID GO, the 110 V portable power supply from Instagrid, has won a 2026 International Green Apple Award for environmental best practice.

Selected from more than 700 entries worldwide, the award will be presented at a ceremony in the House of Lords later this month, where the level of award (Green Champion, Gold, Silver or Bronze) will be revealed.

Launched in October 2024 for the UK construction market, Instagrid GO replaces small combustion generators with silent, emission-free power at the point of work. Weighing 21kg, it delivers 3.6 kW rated power, up to 18 kW peak power and 2.1 kWh capacity, so crews can run 110 V tools without fuel, fumes or noise.

According to Instagrid’s 2025 Impact Report, customers using the firm’s portable power supplies have collectively avoided more than one million tonnes of potential CO2e emissions over the lifetime of their equipment.

Nearly 60,000 Instagrid units have been shipped worldwide since launch, and IoT-enabled units give customers real-time data to track the emissions they avoid.

Charlotte Evans, UK marketing manager at Instagrid, said, “Winning a Green Apple Award is a proud moment for everyone at Instagrid, but it really belongs to the customers, rental partners and crews who chose to switch from generators. Instagrid GO was built to give professionals grid-like power with no fuel, no fumes and no noise, and this recognition shows that clean power on site is now the new baseline.”

As a result of this success, Instagrid has been invited to become a Green World Ambassador. Accepting this status would see Instagrid GO represent the UK at the Green World Awards in Fiji in 2027 and its winning paper published in The Green Book, an annual international work of reference on environmental best practice.
