NIXON Hire has announced an investment of over £1 million in a new fleet of large battery storage units through an exclusive UK hire partnership with Infinity Cube Europe.
The move will enable the business to support larger projects and a wider range of power demands with lower-emission temporary power.
Under the initial 18-month agreement, which has scope to be extended, Nixon Hire explained that it will be the only UK hire company able to offer Infinity Cube Europe’s Pro range of large battery storage units. The investment covers 14 units, six of which have already been deployed on customer sites, with eight more due later this month. A further four units are expected by the end of the year.
The Infinity Cube S Pro, M Pro and L Pro offer 200kW, 300kW and 550kW of energy storage respectively. Units can be linked to create larger battery systems as a site’s needs grow, while each can coordinate up to three generators, rotating their use to help align maintenance visits.
Nixon Hire said early trials demonstrate the range of demands Infinity Cube batteries can meet. On one battery storage project, an L Pro supplied power to 106 modular office bays, four welfare cabins, and washing blocks in addition to supporting construction loads. In another trial, an M Pro handled the full power demand of a tower crane, while an M Pro also supplied the training-ground kitchens of a Premier League football club.
In less than a month, a customer using an Infinity Cube M Pro reported savings of 13,000+ litres of fuel, over £20,900 in fuel costs, and 33.8+ tonnes of CO2 emissions.
The fleet is remotely monitored by Nixon Hire’s Renewable Energy Hub. Data from the new units is also available through Pulse, Nixon Hire’s customer portal.
Brian Cornett, CEO of Nixon Hire, said, “Over several years, we have invested in renewable energy to help customers run sites more efficiently and reduce fuel use. The Infinity range builds on that work, extending our battery offer to larger projects and allowing us to supply higher-capacity power alongside the modular buildings and site accommodation those projects need. We are proud to be Infinity Cube Europe’s exclusive UK hire partner. The early trials have shown the difference these units can make, and as the fleet expands, we look forward to more customers seeing those benefits on their own sites.”
Chris Autey, MD at Infinity Cube Europe, added, “We are delighted to be partnering with Nixon Hire, an organisation that has built an outstanding reputation as one of the UK’s most trusted and innovative providers of sustainable equipment solutions. This partnership brings together Infinity Cube Europe’s expertise in the design and manufacture of advanced battery energy storage systems with Nixon Hire’s award-winning position in the renewable hire sector.”
