GLASGOW-headquartered hire specialist Redmyle has invested in Cat EU Stage V generator sets from Finning UK & Ireland.
Established in 2005, Redmyle supplies temporary power, pumping and climate-control equipment nationwide from distribution centres in Glasgow, Rochdale and Surrey. The generators will join its existing fleet for use across construction, utilities, infrastructure, industrial and event applications.
The order for XQP20, XQP60 and XQP115 units marks the first major milestone in a new relationship between the two businesses. Finning will support the products throughout their working life, providing access to parts, planned maintenance, warranty support and technical expertise.
Matthew Thomas, MD at Redmyle, said, “This is a significant investment for Redmyle and an important step in the continued growth of our power fleet. The XQP20, XQP60 and XQP115 give us the mix of capacity we need for the applications our customers rely on us to support.”
The 20 kVA, 60 kVA and 115 kVA generator sets are designed for mobile rental applications. The range is built for frequent transport and includes Cat Connect remote monitoring, allowing Redmyle to track the equipment and manage availability across its fleet.
Martyn Drinkwater, senior sales manager for electric power at Finning UK & Ireland, added, “This agreement combines the Cat XQP range with support across the whole life of the equipment. For a hire business, the sale is only the start; parts, service and maintenance all have a direct bearing on whether a unit is ready for its next job. Redmyle’s generators can be deployed anywhere in the country, so support cannot depend on them being close to the original depot. Our branch and field-service network gives Redmyle access to Finning expertise across the UK.”
The partnership also includes a reciprocal cross-hire agreement, covering the full range of products available for hire from both businesses. This will give each company access to additional equipment when required, including larger XQP generator sets from Finning when Redmyle needs capacity beyond its own fleet.
