LANDCROS operato challenge winners on podium

ANDREW Walker from Herring Plant Hire triumphed at the first ever UK LANDCROS Operator Challenge and will now represent the UK at the European finals in Amsterdam in September.

The event, held at Trainbase, Northumberland, brought together Hitachi operators from across the UK to compete in a range of challenges designed to push technique, control and efficiency to the limit.

Three different Hitachi excavators were on offer: the ZX95USB-7, ZX130LCN-7B, and ZX225US-7.

Hitachi Construction Machinery UK, soon to be rebranded as LANDCROS, said the competition showcased ‘exceptional skill and precision’.

Winner Andrew Walker will now compete against the best operators Europe at the final in Amsterdam for the chance to win a trip to Japan and the overall title of LANDCROS Champion.

The runner-up accolade went to Ollie Old from L Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage, with Lukas Urbonas from Coinford Ltd in third spot.

Abbi Kearney, marketing & communications manager, at HCMUK, said, “It has been a pleasure to see operators from across the country come together to showcase their skills and compete against each other to become the UK’s first LANDCROS Champion.”
