FINNING UK & Ireland has marked a milestone by supplying its 10,000th industrial engine to McCloskey International.
Finning has been supplying engines for McCloskey machines since 2006 when the company set up manufacturing facilities in Northern Ireland. McCloskey, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, uses Cat engines to power its mobile crushers, screeners, stackers, trommels, and washing systems.
Steffen Barrett, sales manager for industrial engines at Finning UK & Ireland, said, “McCloskey manufactures equipment that processes raw materials, turning them into usable products including aggregates for construction, materials for road building and processed waste for recycling. Demand for infrastructure and materials continues to grow, with global construction spend forecast to increase by 25% over the next decade.
“As a result, we are seeing increased need for this type of equipment. Operators appreciate the benefits of mobile material processing equipment that can be deployed quickly, adapted to different projects and scaled in line with demand, often through rental and leasing models. McCloskey’s equipment is built for demanding applications, and Cat engines provide the reliability, durability and productivity customers expect.”
McCloskey has grown from a small family-run business into a global manufacturer, with operations across North America, Europe and Asia. Since its acquisition by Metso in 2019, the company has continued to invest in its manufacturing footprint and product range.
Darren McKnight, VP at McCloskey International, added, “As we’ve grown as a business and expanded our global reach, our relationship with Finning has evolved alongside us. We’re continuing to invest in how our machines are powered, including working with Finning and Cat on the development of more efficient and increasingly electrified solutions across our product range. That’s a key area of focus for us as we look to improve performance, reduce emissions and meet changing customer requirements.
“Having a partner that can support the full lifecycle of our products, from engine integration through to warranty, service and ongoing development, is critical to how we deliver reliable equipment to our customers around the world.”
