A new product from excavation support specialist Groundforce has been shortlisted for a major national award.
Groundforce Shorco recently marked the ten-year anniversary of the launch of what it calls the industry’s ‘safest and smartest’ trench sheet handling system by offering even greater versatility with SheetMaster 2.0.
With a SWL of 10t, the new system features a ratchet release mechanism to eliminate accidental sheet release.
Despite only being launched earlier this month, the product is in contention for the Specialist Construction Product of the Year accolade at the CN Specialists Awards 2026, with winners due to be announced in September. Groundforce has also been shortlisted in the Equipment Supplier of the Year category at the same awards.
Designed to reduce the number of handling accessories required on site, SheetMaster 2.0 is a multi-function sheet handling and installation attachment that replaces multiple regularly-used trench sheet handling tools on site.
It negates the need for quick-release shackles, is used to lift the sheet into the vertical for positioning, has a driving cap to protect the sheet from damage, and is also built as an extractor to pull the sheet out of the ground. Groundforce said no formal training is required as the process will be familiar to operators who are used to using quick release shackles and driving caps.
