PETERLEE-based 24/7 Crane Hire Ltd has received the firm’s first new Liebherr all-terrain crane. The five-axle LTM 1230-5.1 will support the growing company’s operations across the north east of England and beyond.

The model features a seven-section, 75m main boom, which can be extended with an 11.5 to 20m double swingaway fly jib, offering offset angles of up to 40 degrees. Up to three 7m inserts can also be added between the boom nose and the jib, delivering a maximum tip height of 113m with the main boom at 68m.

Thanks to its flexible boom configurations, Liebherr said the crane offers ‘exceptional’ versatility and is suited to applications requiring significant hook heights, such as maintenance projects and wind turbine installations.

A key feature of the LTM 1230-5.1 is Liebherr’s VarioBase Plus system, which combines an asymmetrical support base with enhanced stability.

24/7 Crane Hire’s MD, Richard Foster, said, “We’re delighted to take delivery of this flagship crane for our fleet. The LTM 1230-5.1 is a massive milestone for our business, and we look forward to supporting our customers across the north east of England with this crane from Liebherr. A massive reason for choosing Liebherr when it came to making this investment was simply down to the back-up we get from the local engineers in the area.”
