THE CEA (Construction Equipment Association) has welcomed David Waine as trade advocate, a voluntary role that will support the association’s work around international trade, supply chains and UK manufacturing.
David is MD of Con Mech Engineers Ltd, a UK-based manufacturing business supplying wear parts and ground engaging tools to the construction equipment industry. With a career spanning senior commercial and leadership roles across UK steel and downstream manufacturing, the CEA said he brings practical insight into international trade, supply chains and the realities facing UK manufacturers.
Viki Bell, CEO of the CEA, said, “As the CEA’s work continues to grow and the team remains incredibly busy across a wide range of member activity, it is fantastic to welcome David Waine as trade advocate.
“David brings exactly the kind of practical industry knowledge that adds real value to our work. His experience in UK manufacturing, international trade and supply chains gives him a clear understanding of the pressures and opportunities facing our members, and we are very grateful for his support.”
David Waine added, “I am delighted to be supporting the CEA as trade advocate and to share some of the experience I have gained through many years in UK manufacturing and international trade. The construction equipment sector is full of strong, innovative businesses, but the trading environment remains complex.
“From supply chains and tariffs to regulation and overseas opportunities, there are many issues that affect members in very practical ways. I look forward to supporting the CEA’s work and helping to ensure those industry views are heard.”
