LEICESTERSHIRE-based plant hire and construction support provider True Group has unveiled a specially wrapped Komatsu eight-tonne excavator to help raise funds and awareness for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
The distinctive machine, featuring a colourful dot design and Rainbows Hospice branding, has been added to the company’s hire fleet and will be available for projects across the East Midlands. A percentage of every hire will be donated directly to the charity, meaning each job the excavator works on will contribute to supporting children and families living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
The bespoke livery was designed, produced and installed by Poly Graphics Ltd, which is supporting the initiative by providing the bespoke design, graphic production and machine wrapping services free of charge.
Rainbows Hospice delivers vital care and support to babies, children and young people both at its hospice and within hospitals and family homes across the region.
Hannah Meisuria, corporate partnerships fundraiser for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, said, “Support from businesses like True Group makes a real difference to the children and families we care for. This initiative not only helps raise vital funds but also increases awareness of our work within the local community and construction industry. We’re grateful for their continued support.”
Craig Flowers, group operations director at True Group, explained that the company wanted to create an initiative that would deliver ongoing impact. “We wanted to create something that provides real, long-term support,” he said. “Every time this excavator goes out on hire, it helps generate funds for Rainbows Hospice. At the same time, the design stands out on site and helps raise awareness of the incredible work the charity does for children and their families.”
McHale Komatsu, distributor for Komatsu construction and Utility equipment in the UK and Ireland, also welcomed the initiative, highlighting the positive role the construction sector can play in supporting communities. Aftersales director Anthony Ryan said, “It’s fantastic to see one of our machines being used in such a positive way. Initiatives like this demonstrate how the construction and plant hire industry can make a real difference in local communities. We’re proud to see the Komatsu excavator helping to raise both funds and awareness for such an important cause.”
