GORDONS Construction Equipment was named Best Heavy Machines Dealer at the recent Develon European Dealer Conference, held in Rome.

The event attracted personnel from 66 dealerships from 24 countries. Held over two days, the conference provided a platform for Develon dealers and personnel to meet, speak, listen, discuss, and share best practices.

This year’s meeting at Crowne Plaza Rome Hotel on Via Aurelia Antica opened with a presentation from TK Choi, HD Construction Equipment executive VP, that provided an overview of global and European business. This included information on the newly formed HD Construction Equipment, the global market outlook, sales goals, and strategic business direction. The business expansion of aftermarket and product support operations was also covered by other executives.

Jayden Lim, head of HD Construction Equipment Europe/CEO Develon Europe, spoke about the company’s achievements, new product introductions, and the continuing expansion of the company facilities and dealer network.

Since the last European Dealer Conference in 2024, major developments have included the opening of Develon’s new Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Boom in Belgium. With a storage area of 24,000 m² and an inventory of 47,000 stock units, the PDC is designed to bring services closer to customers and allow Develon to respond more swiftly to demands in the European construction equipment market.

Develon has also opened a new company owned store in Germany, establishing Develon Deutschland in Mannheim, and a customisation centre in Antwerp, Belgium as an integrated EU machine modification facility. Most recently, another customisation centre has been opened in the UK in Southampton.

Over the past two years, Develon has launched 24 new models, highlighted by the introduction of the Series 9 smart crawler excavators.

The Rome conference provided an opportunity to celebrate the success of both dealers and the manufacturer within a very competitive construction equipment industry. In recognition of their achievements in 2025, a number of performance awards for dealers across Europe were presented including the Best Heavy Machines Dealer accolade to Castle Douglas-based Gordons.

The first day of the conference concluded with a gala dinner, while the second day featured a leisure activity in Rome – Discover Rome. Participants set off in groups on a vintage car driving experience through the city, stopping at various locations to complete challenges as part of a friendly competition.
