TILLICOULTRY Quarries has ramped up its sustainability ambitions by extending the life of its machines through the Finning UK & Ireland rebuild programme.
Four Cat 962 wheel loaders have undergone a powertrain, pumps, and motors refurbishment. Described as performing to the same high standards as new, the machines have been rebuilt with genuine Cat parts.
Under the programme, Cat certified engineers at Finning have replaced, refurbished, and upgraded the powertrain system and restored the hydraulics. Each machine has then undergone testing to ensure it meets the high quality standards of a like-new spec.
Robert Hamilton, director at Clackmannanshire-based Tillicoultry Quarries, said, “The rebuild scheme compliments our annual replacement programme and allows us to benefit from a continued premium performance from our existing fleet. We are committed to transforming the supply and delivery of construction materials through investment in people, plant and equipment.
“Re-powered products keep us and our customers operating reliably and efficiently while minimising our impact on the environment.
“We need a service that delivers as few interruptions as possible. We won’t let our customers down on our quality and service commitment which is why we partner with Finning as we share the same values. We’re big advocates of the rebuild programme as it supports our continuous development.”
Dean Stirling, product support account manager at Finning UK & Ireland, added, “As a trusted supplier of quarry materials across the UK, a reliable and efficient rebuild service was essential to Tillicoultry Quarries. The first machine was back on site within eight weeks as promised.
“We have been working with Tillicoultry Quarries for more than 20 years, and we understand that for its value chain to perform at optimum levels, its fleet of equipment needs to be safe, efficient and productive. This business runs an extensive operation, so cost efficiency is also an important consideration. Tillicoultry Quarries has benefited from the rebuild programme in the past and so could be confident that we would deliver on the quality, price and turnaround time we outlined upfront.”
