SPEEDY Hire is celebrating a milestone after confirming that more than 5,000 visitors have now taken part in guided tours of the firm’s National Innovation Centre in Milton Keynes.
For more than four years, the centre has been led by Del Cleveland, customer experience and facilities manager. While operating as a fully functioning depot, Del has delivered over 2,400 hours of immersive tours. The sessions provide an up-close look at the company’s sustainability initiatives, including energy management systems, technologies, A+ rated building design, and a range of living walls and biodiversity features.
Visitors have also experience dedicated wellbeing spaces and community installations —such as the Knife Amnesty turbine and the Scouts DIY wall — designed to mdemonstrate the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and social impact.
Del said, “Through every tour, I’m able to show how we turn our social value ambitions into real experiences for the people who visit us. Guests get a real‑world view of sustainability at work, and it’s inspiring to watch the next generation connect with the future of our industry. I tailor each visit to the needs of the group, and it’s a genuine privilege to share the work we do and see the difference it makes to the people who come through our doors.”
Local schools and colleges visit the centre, giving young people an insight into the world of work and the importance of green skills. Hands‑on activities, such as project management tasks, mock interviews, and sustainability demonstrations, aim to give students skills that support their employability and deepen their understanding of industry.
