SITECH appoints new technical sales consultant to support industry-wide growth

Ken McMullen

SITECH UK & Ireland, authorised dealer of Trimble Civil Construction Field Systems, is strengthening its capabilities and customer support with the appointment of new technical sales consultant, Ken McMullen.

With the Building Cost Information Service (BCIS) projecting a new work output growth of 18% between 2025 and 2030 in the UK, the firm explained Ken will help spearhead customer support for markets looking to harness technology to enhance productivity, reduce material waste and lower costs – specifically where projects include drilling, piling, paving, milling, and compaction.

With a background as a mining surveyor and experience in machine control system sales, Ken brings to SITECH specialist expertise that supports the company’s focus on groundworks and roadworks applications, where technology adoption has traditionally lagged behind other areas of the construction industry.

Alex Gadd, head of business at SITECH UK & Ireland, said, “As the industry continues to work towards the well-documented government development targets, and the resulting increase in infrastructure, contractors are under increasing pressure to deliver projects quickly and more accurately.

“We are thrilled to have Ken on board to drive the adoption of Trimble Groundworks and Trimble Roadworks solutions across the UK, raising awareness of how these technologies can help projects achieve more efficient workflows compared to traditional set out methods.”

In his role as technical sales consultant at SITECH, Ken will be working throughout the UK and is committed to ensuring customers understand the real-world value of Trimble products before investing. Those that choose to invest in Trimble products through SITECH can benefit from the company’s operator training, installation, and ongoing technical support to all of its customers looking to increase accuracy, keep costs down and streamline their workflow.

Ken said, “It is vital that customers get the opportunity to trial Trimble technology to get first-hand experience and understanding of how it can transform their projects. Typically, specialist construction sectors have been slower to adopt machine guidance, however, the benefits are increasingly compelling – particularly given the ambitious government development targets.

“The trial-first model at SITECH gives our team the chance to address any concerns customers may have and supply any additional training support that may initially be a barrier to investment in technology.

“I am thrilled to be starting my career at SITECH at a time of significant growth for the company and in a position to utilise my expertise to help customers, old and new, get the best out of their machines, projects and businesses with Trimble technology.”
