SITECH UK & Ireland, authorised dealer of Trimble civil construction field systems, recently invited customers interested in adopting digital tools to a specialist technology day at the firm’s new training academy in Norton Canes, Staffordshire.
SITECH highlighted a digital construction report from NBS, which revealed that the construction sector is seeing a ‘profound transformation’ marked by rapid adoption of technology and growing confidence that digitisation is now an essential tool for efficiency and sustainability.
The new centre is designed to make skills development a priority by offering a variety of internal and external training options.
Danielle Barker, strategic accounts manager at SITECH UK & Ireland, said, “In the groundworks and civil markets it has taken longer than some other areas to adopt construction technologies, but the uptake is now gaining momentum and technology is fast becoming an essential part of the industry’s tool kit, thanks to host of benefits it brings, including enhancing efficiencies, increasing safety and reducing material waste.”
Talks and demonstrations took place during the tech day, designed to enable attendees to explore how the Trimble Field-to-Finish Workflow can help streamline operations by converting raw field survey data from total stations, drones and GNSS receivers into CAD deliverables.
Customers had the chance to learn about technology from the team at SITECH and also hear first-hand from existing customers how technology has transformed their operations.
