ENGCON has announced the compatibility of its DC3 control system with Caterpillar Next Gen (NG) wheeled excavators.
Starting in February, in addition to the crawler excavators, the Caterpillar M314 NG–M322 NG models will support ‘rapid’ installation of engcon tiltrotators. This is made possible by engcon’s DC3 control system, combined with Cat’s Software Enabled Attachment (SEA) technology.
DC3 is the next-generation control system for engcon tiltrotators, built on a completely new hardware and software platform. It is designed to simplify installation with machine manufacturer interfaces compared to traditional aftermarket solutions.
“With increased demand for our products on a global scale, we see it as crucial to make our tiltrotator more accessible and easier to get in the hands of the customer,” explained Sam Ryan, global OEM manager, engcon, who added that it is equally important to make sure that customers can get the full value out of what both tiltrotator and machine has to offer.
The release reflects a wider industry trend of OEMs increasingly looking to enable easier availability of advanced attachments.
