New D7 dozers put straight to work on Scottish earthmoving scheme

FOLLOWING the recent decision to invest in D5 and D6 models, Stevens Equipment Rental (SER) is further expanding its Caterpillar dozer fleet by adding the larger Cat D7 for the first time.

The new D7 dozers have been deployed directly to a major earthmoving project in Scotland.

The models are a response to customer demand for a machine with greater capacity on large-scale tasks. The move is tipped to enhance SER’s ability to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ solution for contractors.

“These new additions are a natural next step in our fleet’s evolution,” said Mark Need, sales manager for the north & Scotland. “Our customers are taking on bigger and more ambitious projects, and they told us they needed a heavier-duty dozer in our fleet. We listened, and we’ve delivered a machine that meets that need perfectly.”

The Cat D7 features a fully automatic four-speed transmission. Like SER’s other new Caterpillar dozers, the D7 fleet is specified with grade control technology to boost productivity.

SER has also recently taken delivery of the first Cat 352 in a larger Caterpillar excavator order from Finning UK & Ireland.
