THE Scottish Plant Owners Association (SPOA) has revealed the line-up for its 2026 Annual Dinner as tickets go on sale.

Sports broadcaster and football pundit Peter Martin will compere the event. As the former head of sport at Radio Clyde, Peter is best known for hosting the Football Show on YouTube alongside Alan Rough.

He will be joined by guest speaker Willie Allan, who has been described as ‘Scotland’s number one after dinner speaker’. Willie combines life experience growing up in Dunfermline with parents in the pub trade, with a career as a PE teacher in Fife.

Billy Reid, two-time Scottish Close-up Magician of the Year, will also be in attendance to mesmerise guests with magic tricks.

A highlight of the year, the annual SPOA Apprentices of the Year Awards will be announced, celebrating the achievements of plant operators and plant mechanics at the start of their careers.

Sticks ‘n’ Kicks will provide music at the drinks reception and will pipe in the haggis, which will be addressed by award-winning blogger and author, Graeme Johncock.

Launched at last year’s SPOA Annual Dinner, the Youth Sports Sponsorship Programme will benefit from 50% of money raised on the evening through a raffle and live auction.

SPOA president David Jarvie said, “I am really looking forward to the Annual Dinner. This will be my first Annual Dinner as president, and I’ve tried to pull out all the stops to make it a great night! I can promise good food, top class entertainment and, of course, great company.”

The SPOA Annual Dinner 2026 takes place on Friday 6th February at the Hilton Glasgow and sponsorship opportunities are available.
