Dumper manufacturer to increase production capacity

Opening of Thwaites factory extension

SITE dumper manufacturer Thwaites has announced the ‘most significant’ factory investment in the firm’s 88-year history, with an extension that is set to increase production capacity by 15%.

Completed over a 71-week build programme, the 4,000 sqm facility is now in the final stages of commissioning before becoming fully operational in early 2026.

Constructed by Interclass PLC, the project is said to have engaged throughout the build with the local community in Warwickshire. The factory has been fitted with 1,483 roof solar panels – tipped to deliver up to 33% of the site’s future power needs. The investment also includes 36 EV charging points.

The new facility will house the production and parts teams.

Thwaites MD Simon Hill said, “We are delighted to announce the opening of this new facility and welcome the completion of the wider work around the factory. This investment will make the site an even better place to work, improve productivity and drive growth.”

The new building forms part of a wider improvement plan that includes: concreted roadways to safely direct and manage one-way traffic flows; concrete beds to provide additional operational and loading areas; 248 employee refreshed and improved parking spaces; 99 new factory and front office parking spaces; 60 covered motorcycle and cycle stands; a dedicated conservation area; and landscaped gardens and frontage.
