ATLAS Copco has launched its EPH series of modular hybrid power generators.
Designed as an alternative to traditional diesel units, these intelligent systems are said to ‘drastically’ cut fuel consumption and operational costs while providing ‘dependable energy exactly where and when it’s needed’.
The modular hybrid generators integrate a traditional diesel engine with a battery energy storage system (BESS) and can connect with renewable energy sources such as solar panels. Its intelligent design allows the generator to switch between power sources based on demand, using silent battery power for low-to-moderate needs and only activating the diesel engine as a backup for higher power demands or when the battery charge is low.
Atlas Copco said the EPH series can reduce fuel consumption by up to 90% and by decreasing generator run time, the system lowers CO2 emissions by up to 86%.
