EAST Lothian-based Evans Engineering Solutions is targeting further growth this year after embarking on new partnerships and moving into a new facility with bespoke bays for carrying out tiltrotator refurbishments.

The firm, which has supplied and serviced Steelwrist tiltrotators and attachments for a number of years, has added TMC Cancela mulching equipment and XploSafe safety windscreens to its expanding portfolio of products.

TMC Cancela is headquartered in Tordoia, Spain and delivers equipment globally. The company manufactures products ranging from stone crushers and forestry mulchers through to rotary brush cutters and excavator mulching heads. They also offer an agricultural range as well as toppers and flail mowers.

Evans Engineering has become a stockist and dealer for the brand. MD Gareth Evans told Project Plant, “Mulchers are something we’d always looked at. Within the industry we deal a lot with that type of thing.

“We’re always on the lookout for a good, high-quality product and a well thought-through product that ticks all the boxes. We know a few customers that currently have them and have had great success. So, it’s definitely a tried and tested product. The people at TMC are great to deal with as well. It’s still a family-run business.”

Gareth revealed that the TMC range complements Evans’ existing attachments offering for customers operating in the construction and forestry sectors.

The firm has also partnered with Norway-based XploSafe, a provider of armoured windscreens for construction equipment. The aim is to enhance safety for operators, with Gareth praising the quality of the solutions, which are designed to withstand extreme conditions.

These moves support Evans’ commitment to delivering a reliable one-stop-shop solution for all customer equipment needs.

The recent relocation to a new base in Cockburnspath, near Dunbar, also forms part of the company’s long-term strategy.

“We’ve moved into a new facility with custom-built bays for doing refurbs on tiltrotators,” Gareth added. “We’ve got overhead cranes, big parts washers, and specifically made benches for stripping the tiltrotators.

“The offices aren’t fully built yet, but the refurb centre is up and running.”

Gareth revealed the firm aims to stand out in an increasingly competitive market by providing quality backup and customer support. He is encouraged by the number of projects kicking off around Scotland and anticipates potentially taking on two new employees in the near future as demand for the company’s services grow.

Key to the ambitious plans is having a plentiful supply of stock ready to go at short notice.

“I want to get more stock in of mulchers, tiltrotators and windscreens so we can serve our customers better,” Gareth concluded. “We’re focusing on growth and having everything available. The demand seems to be high throughout the world at the moment. Our aim is to put in orders so that we’ve got stock sitting ready to go.”
