GAIA Group will make its PlantWorx debut this year with its energy management system, AutoMate®, designed to transform the way temporary site power is controlled.
Gaia offers two complementary solutions: DataMate and AutoMate. Both use compact hardware installed next to each cabin or bay’s distribution board. The units create a self-healing mesh network, track location via GPS, and detect movement around the site.
DataMate is described as a lightweight monitoring platform designed for small sites or trials, providing real-time tracking of electricity, CO₂, fuel, and water, along with automated reporting and insights. AutoMate builds on this by adding complete energy optimisation.
By automatically energising cabins only when people are present and intelligently balancing loads, AutoMate is designed to enable generator sizes to be reduced by up to 50%. A standard 6–8 cabin setup is said to be capable of delivering fuel savings of around £300 per week, while reducing emissions by up to 80%. Operators also benefit from live dashboards that track fuel consumption, carbon emissions, air quality, and noise levels.
AutoMate has also been shortlisted for a PlantWorx Innovation Award, recognising the system’s role in supporting the industry’s move towards more sustainable and efficient ways of working.
