‘Game-changing’ Battery Energy Storage System set for PlantWorx launch

Battery Energy Storage System

RENEWABLE power and lighting specialist Prolectric is launching a ‘groundbreaking’ new three phase solar Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

ProCharge is described as boasting an onboard and deployable 5,280W solar panel array. The product will be officially unveiled at Plantworx 2025’s new Site Sustainability Showcase in September.

Prolectric will headline sponsor the Site Sustainability Showcase, bringing together solar, hydrogen, electric, battery-powered, and hybrid technologies in one zone.

On site powering the show, Prolectric’s new ProCharge BESS will demonstrate its characteristics, combining twelve 440W solar panels with 120kWh battery energy storage. The product has been introduced following the initial prototype, which was tested and adapted in collaboration with some of the UK’s largest contractors.

During the trial at the Kier A417 Missing Link Project’ the prototype, which has only eight panels, reportedly saved Kier Highways over £32,500 in just five months. Moving forward, the unit is tipped to annually save 150,000kg of CO2e from being emitted into the atmosphere.

Offering three times the output power and 3.5 times the battery capacity of Prolectric’s single-phase system, the 120kWh BESS is designed for high-demand applications requiring up to 45kVA, and integrates with diesel generators, commonly 100kVA.

The ProCharge three-phase model can be used to create a hybrid setup for powering site compounds and to charge machines like electric telehandlers, small EVs, battery-powered all-terrain vehicles, mini-diggers, and dumpers.

The skid-mounted unit is designed to work with standard UK three-phase distribution boards. Noise is also decreased, making it suitable for urban environments and night projects in residential areas. Operations can be monitored and controlled remotely via an integrated microcontroller and GPS (global positioning system).
