MACHINERY supplier Conagri is gearing up for a quirky charity challenge at the upcoming Royal Highland Show.
Pink or black? That’s the choice entrants into a draw to raise money for The Pink Foundation and Prostate Cancer UK will have at the event next week in Ingliston.
Conagri is combining a national tour of the Captain Tractors brand that pioneered the compact tractor with raising money for the two charities. It started at the Devon County Show, followed by the Royal Bath & West and then the Royal Cornwall. Hundreds of tickets have been sold to date.
At the Royal Highland Show, visitors will be asked to donate £10 to enter the draw to win either a £10,000 bespoke pink tractor to raise funds for the Pink Ribbon Foundation (for breast cancer) or a black one for Prostate Cancer UK. They will also be able to sit on these one-off tractors and have their picture taken.
The winners will be drawn in October by TV presenter and breast cancer survivor Julia Bradbury, whose father Michael is a prostate cancer survivor.
Julia said, “I’m thrilled to be supporting Conagri’s Captain Tractor raffle campaign supporting the Pink Ribbon Foundation for breast cancer and Prostate Cancer UK, two causes that are incredibly close to my heart. The pink tractor will tour shows this summer and bring joy to everyone that sits behind its wheel! I can’t wait to meet the winners of the two tractors in the autumn.”
Conagri director Andrew Venton added, “We thought there should be a dual purpose to our introductory tour of the Captain Tractors brand and there’s no better cause than these two charities.”
