PERTH-based bulk handling and storage systems specialist, Abdie Solutions, has announced a major expansion, with the firm moving into new HQ five times the size of the previous site.
The move is backed by a six-figure investment and includes new staff appointments and the launch of a new subsidiary, BD Plasma.
Founded in 2011, Abdie Solutions designs and delivers bespoke engineering solutions for clients such as Whyte & Mackay, Glenmorangie, Scottish Leather Group and Hendrick’s Gin. For Hendrick’s, the team developed a specialist system to remove botanicals from liquid.
MD Stewart Todd described the latest expansion as a ‘strategic evolution’ of the business driven by growing customer demand.
He said, “We’ve always been driven by solving real world problems for our clients, and that means evolving with their needs. The new premises give us the space to scale up operations and invest in our people and equipment.
“With the addition of BD Plasma, we can now offer a fast, accurate plasma cutting service that not only supports our in-house projects, such as enabling quicker turnaround on ductwork fabrication, but also provides a valuable resource to third parties, whether they require custom components for their own fabrication or bespoke signage for retail spaces.
“It’s a big step forward for us, but it’s built on the same foundations as Abdie, careful attention to detail, strong relationships, and solutions that stand the test of time.”
The company’s expanded workshop and manufacturing space has already welcomed two new staff members, with further recruitment underway.
Abdie revealed its capabilities in areas such as grain drying, silo design, draff handling, and conveyor systems have made the firm a key partner for businesses looking to boost capacity, reduce waste and increase onsite efficiency. The larger premises and addition of BD Plasma will enable the company to deliver a wider range of solutions.
