QUATTRO Plant has expanded its heavy haulage capabilities with the addition of 20 new Scania 770S trucks.
The investment brings the company’s total Scania fleet to 23.
The Scania 770S boasts a 770hp V8 engine, which is said to deliver ‘exceptional performance’ under extreme weight and load conditions, making it suited to Quattro’s heavy-duty rail plant transportation.
Mark Stone, depot manager at Quattro Plant Cwmbran, who helped facilitate the deal, said, “We’re delighted to upgrade our fleet with new Scanias. Quattro needs the pulling power, fuel efficiency and reliability to meet our customer demand. The Scania 770s will be hauling Quattro’s RRVs from Land’s End to John O’Groats, so we will be putting the workhorses through their paces.”
John Murphy, MD of Quattro Group, shook hands on the deal with Keltruck Scania’s Richard Woodland. He added, “The driver feedback from the Scanias has been universally positive, so it’s a no-brainer we’d want to add more to the fleet. The Scania 770s are perfect for getting Quattro rail plant where it needs to be – on track, all around the UK.”
