Sandvik introduces electrifying new tracked cone crusher

Sandvik QH443E electric tracked cone crusher

SANDVIK Mobile Crushing and Screening has unveiled its new QH443E electric tracked cone crusher – tipped to ‘revolutionise’ operations in heavy duty applications.

The model is Sandvik’s flagship Q-Range electric-driven cone plant. The manufacturer said the launch marks a ‘significant step’ towards bridging the gap between tracked mobile, wheeled portable, and stationary plants by combining electric drives and track mobility on a single platform.

The QH443E completes Sandvik’s electric train, which includes the UJ443E fully electric jaw crusher, QE342e hybrid scalper, and QA452e hybrid triple-deck Doublescreen.

The model features a new heavy duty feeder design and is equipped with electrically driven components. Sandvik explained that its design allows for operation through a connection to an external electrical grid supply or on-board generator.

The unit can be operated via HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) or diesel when required.

Due to the electrification of the onboard components, Sandvik said that running the QH443E via the genset can result in up to 25% fuel savings and a 78% reduction in hydraulic oil usage compared to previous generations.

The solution is suited to environments such as large quarries and mines. A ‘robust’ design includes a unibody mainframe. The load-sensing system for the feeder drive, camera, and level sensor is said to ‘guarantee’ continuous crushing, while the choice of chambers, throws, and settings allows for customisation to suit a range of applications.

Safety features include remote camera viewing of the crushing chamber, 270° access around the crusher, and mandatory audible and visual warnings.

The QH443E is available to order in the European market now through Sandvik Mobile’s sales network and will be available globally later this year.
