Komatsu Europe unveils new demolition attachments

Komatsu attachments

KOMATSU Europe is expanding its demolition attachments portfolio with three new products.

A new static pulveriser, rotating pulveriser, and demolition crusher, are being introduced to help meet customer requirements for ‘efficiency, performance and reliability’.

Komatsu said short cycle times are achieved by using large hydraulic components for ‘maximised’ oil flow and a custom-made speed valve. On the mechanical side, the main areas of focus were strength and wear-resistance. Strenx 960 has been utilised for the main structure, Hardox for protection plates, and alu-bronze bushings on the main hinge.

The manufacturer added that it is ‘simplifying’ the customer experience by offering a one-stop shop solution that includes both excavator and matching attachments.

“Each attachment is available in four sizes, suitable for 15 to 70-tonne machine class (rotating pulveriser and demolition crusher) and 16 to 60-tonne machine class (static pulveriser),” said Bastiaan Cassiman, product manager attachments. “The attachments provide high cutting and crushing power at all times.

“The attachments are designed to work their way through everything, both in primary and secondary demolition.”

Komatsu previously introduced sorting and demolition grapples, which the firm said have ‘already proven to be valuable assets’ for the industry. More advanced attachments will be introduced over the coming year.
